# Alibi (The Alibi Sisters)

> Alibi (Russian: Алиби, Ukrainian: Алібі) is a Ukrainian pop duo of two sisters, Anna Zavalskaya and Angelina Zavalskaya. The duo counts 6 April 2001 in Kyiv as its founding date. Since 2021 the sisters perform as The Alibi Sisters. alibisoul.com is an independent fan site about the duo.

- Before Alibi: violin at music school (1997); lead singers of the quartet Cappuccino (1998–2000). Anna wrote lyrics, Angelina music.
- First singles: «Алиби» (gave the group its name) and «На Різдво».
- Albums: «Две слезы» (2002, debut), «Да или нет».
- Best-known songs: «Да или нет», «С чистого листа», «Табу», «Оригами», «Ты должен знать», «Не для прессы», «Мелодия дождя».
- 2012: media reported a split; the sisters disputed this and moved to solo work and family.
- 2019: sang together again on the TV show «Пашина 20-ка» after a five-year break.
- 2021: relaunched as The Alibi Sisters; performed on «Голос країни». Repertoire adds Ukrainian folk and Yiddish songs, including «Йшла дівчина лучками», a dedication to Kyiv.
- 20 February 2026: Ukrainian-language version of «Табу» with Логай, 21 years after the original.
- Charity: campaigns against cancer, support for parents of children with Down syndrome, children's-rights events.
